Sleight of Mouth is a set of conversational reframing patterns developed by Robert Dilts, built to do something that usually takes weeks of coaching in a matter of seconds: shift the meaning of a limiting belief by approaching it from an angle the person hasn’t considered. “I’m not good enough for this promotion” can be challenged a dozen different structural ways – by questioning the evidence behind it, redefining what “good enough” even means, pointing out the consequence of holding the belief, or reframing the intention behind it – and each pattern produces a genuinely different shift, not just a rephrased version of the same pushback.

This training goes well beyond the Meta Model’s basic information-gathering questions into advanced conversational influence: the full set of Sleight of Mouth patterns, applied not as a memorized list but as a live skill – recognizing in real time which pattern actually fits the specific belief structure in front of you, rather than running through them mechanically. You’ll also work with more advanced Milton Model patterns for indirect influence and embedded suggestion, and study how skilled communicators – across negotiation, therapy, and public speaking – use these patterns instinctively, often without naming them.

This is precision language work. Used responsibly, it’s one of the fastest tools available for working with limiting beliefs; used carelessly, it slides into manipulation. The training treats that line as central, not incidental.
