Long before NLP existed as a field, Milton Erickson was already demonstrating that the unconscious mind could be engaged directly, conversationally, and with remarkable precision – without the formal inductions most people picture when they hear the word “hypnosis.” Much of NLP’s language patterns and approach to unconscious communication trace directly back to modeling his work. This diploma takes you back to that source and builds your skill in hypnotic communication as a discipline in its own right, not just as the patterns borrowed into NLP.

You’ll learn both classical and conversational (Ericksonian) hypnosis: formal induction and deepening techniques, alongside the indirect, permissive language patterns that allow trance work to happen inside an ordinary-sounding conversation – useful precisely because most clients respond better to influence they don’t feel being applied to them. You’ll study the structure of effective therapeutic metaphor, how to utilize whatever a client brings into the room – resistance included – rather than fighting it, and how to work safely with age regression, ego-strengthening, and post-hypnotic suggestion.

Ethics and safety are central throughout. Hypnotic communication is powerful precisely because it bypasses some of the conscious mind’s usual filters, which means the responsibility on the practitioner is correspondingly higher.
